20 De Enero Group's story

The Association "20 de Enero" (20th of January) will begin its 3rd loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Communal Bank Senkata. It’s made up of 9 members and a group of directors, of which, Miguelina is the head. The members of our community have various businesses and lines of work like fruit sales, tripe sales, hair salon, woven baby clothes sales, vegetable sales, corner store, shoe sales. Miguelina indicates that she’s been a member of this association for more than 3 years and she has a shoe sales business that she’s owned for 3 years, learning the ins and outs from her aunt. The loan for this cycle is to expand her business (buy shoes). She buys the shoes wholesale from the manufacturers and then she sells them at the fairs. This line of work helps her support her family as she is a widow with 3 children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the health training and loans.
