Haja Kadijatu's story
This is 29-year-old Haja Kadijatu. She is married to a police officer and has one child, aged 1 year, 3 months. In 2003, Haja Kadijatu established her local foodstuffs business. She began her business because when she was going to school at the age of 15 she got pregnant, and her parents asked her to leave the house, so she went to stay with her husband. After she gave birth, she lost the baby and by then the husband was in college. Things were difficult and she decided to go into business to keep up the house. Working seven days a week and eight hours a day, she earns about Le 700,000 every month from this business. She would like a loan in the amount of Le 3,000,000. Haja Kadijatu is requesting the loan in order to buy 20 bags of groundnuts @ Le. 100,000 and 2 bags of beans @ Le. 400,000 and to pay for transport. She hopes that this loan will enable her to increase her monthly profits by approximately Le. 500,000. In the future, Haja Kadijatu plans to open an outlet for her sister and also to assist her husband to buy a piece of land to construct a house. She thanks you for your support.
