Luis's story

Luis, 60, is married to Dominica, 53, and they have four children from this relationship. Together they live in their own house located in the community of Periavente Alta in the district of Llochegua. Luis is a man who dedicated his whole life to agriculture. He says that, as soon as he was married to his wife, his father left him a plot of farmland with coffee and cacao crops. It was he who continued planting up to the present. He is very grateful to his adored wife who always was at his side helping him in everything. Luis now works with his oldest son, who is practically his right hand and is in charge of the coffee-growing jobs. On harvest days Luis always counts on the help of farmworkers who help him harvest the fruit. Later he is planning to open a store for selling vegetables in the market of his district, because a couple of years ago he got a stall there. This will be his second loan with MFP, for which he promises for the second time to make his payments punctually. With the 2,000 PEN he will clear the weeds from his plot of farmland, for which he will hire farmworkers.
