Hermelinda's story

Hermelinda is 48 years old and a hard-working and entrepreneurial mother. She lives with her husband and 2 children in her own house, which has been built on the foundation of hard work. Her home is located in the village “Viviano Espinoza”, in the Las Lomas district of the Piura province. This area is located about 3 hours from the city of Chiclayo. Her village is still being developed and, as a result, currently only has electrical service. Hermelinda dedicates herself to selling children and adult clothing at retail, which she distributes by travelling through her village and neighboring areas on foot. She already counts on some fixed customers, who place orders once or twice per month. Additionally, she takes advantage of offering another product, footwear, as she believes it is complimentary to her primary product lines. Her husband dedicates himself to being a driver on a daily basis, for which he rents a vehicle to transport customers from town to town. Working together, they have both been able to improve their family’s standard of living, and provide better nutrition and an education for their children. Hermelinda believes she still has customers to attract and, with her goals well-established, she wants to invest in the purchase of a variety of products such as clothing and shoes. For this reason, she is requesting a loan from Edpyme Alternativa in the amount of 2,500 Peruvian soles that will help her meet her objectives. Hermelinda is a woman of strong character and a very hard worker. She has very good references from the neighbors in the village.
