A loan helped to buy poultry birds.

Hellen's story

Hellen is a resident and mother in Kitale, Western Kenya where she has practiced mixed farming for the last seven years, producing milk, eggs and vegetables which are sold locally. She is married with four children, all of school going ages. Hellen has requested a second loan of 30,000 Kenyan Shillings (KES) from Juhudi Kilimo to purchase poultry birds to boost her poultry farming business. She hopes to be the main supplier for the local market and beyond. She adds that there are high prospects for the growth of the business due to a ready market, however she notes that rampant poultry diseases are a real challenge.
