A loan helped To buy poultry birds.
Gladys is aged 42 and married with four children; the last three children are still schooling. She lives with her family in their hometown of Kitale, where she has been in farming for 10 years, producing and selling milk, maize, fruits and vegetables to the local market. She earns additional income from her fruit-vending business. Gladys has requested a loan of 40,000 Kenyan shillings (KES) from Juhudi Kilimo to buy poultry for a venture into poultry farming. She says there is a ready market for poultry products in the local market, and the business will help her to earn income to educate her children. She says animal diseases remain the daunting challenge in farming.
