Daane Doolé Group's story

The Daane Doolé group consists of five women who are all involved in textile dyeing. They live in the same neighborhood and have gone through an instructor-led training to learn the techniques of dyeing. After putting resources together for three months, they have opened an account with UIMCEC where they now have some savings. They are all married and have children. The leader of the group (standing in the middle in the photo), is the mother of three children, two of whom attend school. She sells fabrics and dyed clothes at the local market. With the revenues that her business generates, she is able to take care of her own needs and to provide for her children. In order to boost their business, the members of the group are requesting a loan of 500,000 francs which will be used to buy fabrics, dyes, and various other dyeing products. Their goal is to open a stall at the market in order to show and sell their products.
