Myryan Yaninna's story

Myryan is a very hardworking young woman. She lives in the city of Chincha, which is known for its population of Afro-Peruvian origin, its dances, its reputation as the birthplace of great moments in Peruvian sports, its beautiful beaches, and for the production of its flagship product, Pisco. The city is also famous for its cuisine, since the residents of Chincha are known for using good seasoning in their cooking. Myryan is 19 years old and is very responsible and, above all, tenacious. She lives with her partner, who helps her with everything that she does—he is her right hand, and whenever she feels worried or tired he encourages her to keep going, and that is why she loves him so much. Myryan’s partner currently works for the city government, and because of his job they have more income for their household, which is how he is able to study accounting. Myryan earns a living making and selling sweets, jello, cakes, and snacks. She walks along the streets of her neighborhood selling her products; however, this is not her only livelihood, as she also sells gas cylinders from her home. Myryan is very hardworking, and devotes about 9 hours a day to her business. She thinks that her business is going well because she prepares sweets in a way that makes them very delicious, and because she likes to be neat and tidy. These factors encourage customers to purchase her products, and it also helps that she treats her customers in a friendly manner. Myryan is very grateful to Kiva lenders, because it is thanks to their support that she will be able to purchase more materials and ingredients for her sweets business. This will allow her to earn more income, which she will be able to invest in her business. This will also allow her to save so that she can more easily achieve her dream: “To grow as a micro-entrepreneur.”
