Mulay De Curiquinga (Cuenca) Group's story

The communal bank Maluay de Curiquinga is made up of 10 hard-working women looking for a way to get ahead in their jobs. They work in different activities, the same ones that allow them to contribute to their household finances and provide for their families. The live on the outskirts of the Valle en Cuenca parish. This parish is known for its natural beauty where one can enjoy peaceful moments away from the noise of the city. The people work as merchants, raise animals, work in agriculture and many work in different lines of work in the city. They maintain the traditions and culture of their people. One of the members of this group is Señora Particia. She is 40 years old, lives in a common law marriage and has 2 children, ages 3 and 2. Her husband works in construction as a mason. They don't own their own house, so they rent. Doña Patricia is dedicated to the household chores and to caring for the children as they are still young. She also works in agriculture and washes clothes for others when they call her. This is her third loan with her communal bank and she will use it to buy groceries for her household. Her dream is to have her own house.
