Malimba Women Group's story
Bondu is the leader of this group of entrepreneurs. Bondu was born in a place called Gbanna Kandor, in eastern Sierra Leone, about sixty-six years ago. She is married to a farmer and the couple have three children – one in primary school and two in secondary school. For eight years now, Bondu has been selling plastic bowls and soap. This is the first loan that Bondu and her group members have applied for from SMT/Kiva lenders. With the help of this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions. Bondu will use her share of the loan (SLL 500,000) to expand her business; she will buy plastic bowls and soap-making materials in large quantity in order to produce a large quantity of bars of soap for sale.
