A loan helped to purchase stock of fish from her suppliers.

Math's story

Mrs. Math lives in Reussey Keo commune, Phnom Penh. This is a public gathering area where Muslims prefer to live and work. She is now 60 and a good mother of seven children. The main source of her income is from her husband, who is a fisherman, and four employed children who work in various jobs. Math intends to start a fish-selling business. In doing so, she’ll be able to earn and contribute income to better her standard of living. However, Math will need additional funding from lenders to buy stock of fish to sell. Therefore, she is requesting her third loan from Kiva to purchase the stock of fish from her suppliers. She will use the remaining funds to buy some fishing materials to support her husband’s business. She hopes that her family will advance over the previous years, as her business gets successful and she strives to work hard.
