Leonor's story

Leonor was born in the province of Urubamba but lives in the village of Rumichaca Baja. This town is located in the district of Urubamba, province of Urubamba and department of Cusco, Peru. Leonor is 53 years old and has a common-law relationship from which she has five children. She works in different economic activities such as selling "chicha" [a corn beverage], raising small farm animals, and selling "jora" [fermented corn]. She has been working in these businesses for several years now and it is going very well for her. Now she needs the loan to buy more jora and to buy chickens. Leonor is a member of the Los Girasoles de Rumichaca Baja group, made up of 19 members who live in the village of Rumichaca Baja where they carry out their economic activities.
