A loan helped To pay for construction clean-up supplies.
Austin, Texas' "Anytime Labor" is a start-up staffing company that was started in August by 35-year-old Joseph. His business currently employs only Joseph who works with construction and warehouse companies on light manual labor such as cleaning up after construction projects. Joseph is using the loan money to purchase equipment such as shovels, gloves, rakes, hard hats and other work-related tools needed to perform the job. These devices are needed but not offered through the construction companies. Joseph decided to become an entrepreneur because of the flexibility it gives him to juggle returning to school, focusing on his career and making his own decisions. Though this is a recently opened business, Joseph said by next year, it should be up and running. He plans to hire 10 to 20 employees depending on how many companies are willing to take advantage of his services. When he realized he could not afford everything needed, Joseph turned to ACCION Texas Inc. for his business loan. He said he has good credit but lacks any credit history. Joseph said ACCION Texas gave him a head start, "and I appreciate that. " Without the loan, "I think I would have started everything with my own money. (The loan) is going to help me a lot." Joseph thanked ACCION Texas for the help and stated that it is a great place to receive a business loan. In addtition to working and attending school, Joseph is a father of two children, both under the age of 18.
