Angel Roberto's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to stock his grocery store.
Angel Roberto's story
The Proyecto 2003 community bank meets every 15 days in Jaramito (Manta), a pretty place known for its beautiful beaches. Many hard-working local people earn their living from the sea. We met Don Roberto, 44, here. He is married and has 6 children, 4 with his former wife and two with his current wife. The children live with him. All the children are in school. His wife is a merchant. Don Roberto owns a grocery store where he sells all kinds of everyday products: food, housewares, etc. His wife manages the business, working there from 6:00am to 8:00pm. Don Roberto takes over in the afternoons. During the day, he operates a taxi business. He has owned the store for 18 years and is happy with his progress. Don Roberto will use this loan to stock his store. He will buy rice, sugar, cooking oil, detergents, vegetables, housewares, paper products and other everyday products. This is his fourth round of funding with the community bank and he likes it because the interest rates are low. His goal for the future is to buy a new car for his taxi business.
