Warm-hearted Aida plys her general merchandise retail business in Kampala. The mother of five sells a variety of commodities, to wit, sugar, maize flour, plastics, beans, rice. etc. She has now been in this business for a decade. Weekly, she says her sales returns sum up to UGX 100,000. She says the thought of expansion weighs heavily on her mind and the odds of expanding her business in the near future are ten to one. Aida says she will use her Kiva loan to purchase more retail items, such as maize flour, soap, salt, rice, etc. to resell.
