Annet's story

Annet lives in Uganda. She is married and has 5 children, all of whom are in school. She also takes care of additional family members (grandchildren) Annet has a business of selling fruits and vegetables. She has been in this business for 5 years, and she works 7 days out of every week. Annet sells her products at the market, by means of retail. Annet has requested a loan of 300,000 Ugandan Shillings from MCDT SACCO, which she will use to buy more baskets of fruits like mangoes, oranges and water melons. The main business challenges for Annet include transportation and thieves. Her goals and aspirations for her business are to expand her business into a wholesale one and also to open up another branch in the same market. Annet lives in a home that she rents; she doesn't have access to electricity and doesn't have access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees, medication, and feeding the family.
