Furaha is 55 years old, a widow, and the mother of three children, whose ages range between 22 and 33 years old. Two of them attend school. She sells miscellaneous goods. She has been active in her business since 1974. She began her business running a general store. Furaha joined one of Hope’s groups (a DRCongo Microfinance Program) in order to achieve her dream of someday opening a beverage facility in her environment and has already received two loans and repaid them properly. Thanks to Hope’s loans, Furaha’s business has prospered and it generates a profit of $50 per week. With the next loan, Furaha intends to buy more goods to resell at profit in order to increase her capital. She works hard in order to achieve her dream.
