A loan helped to purchase more power-saw machines and timber.

Emmanuel's story

This is 32-year-old Emmanuel from Aberdeen, a western area in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He is married with two children aged three and seven years-old. One of his children is currently attending school. He started his business because he was let go from the Sierra Leone Port Authority as a security guard. Emmanuel runs a Timber store at Aberdeen where he sells timber. He has been running this business for four years, and works at the business from Monday until Saturday, six days per week and ten hours a day. He also earns income from farming. He says that the main challenge to his business is transportation. At one time, he encountered much difficulty finding proper transportation to take the timber from the interior village into town. Emmanuel has requested a loan in order to purchase more power- saw machines and more timber. The extra income from this loan will allow him to improve his standard of living. In the future, he plans to be a timber distributor. He appreciates your support.
