Lercy's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to buy an industrial type machine to optimize production time.
Lercy is a garment manufacturer whose garments are of high quality. She worked hard and learned the trade while studying fashion design when she arrived from the municipality of Ayape in the department of Cordobal, where she was born. Cordoba is well-known for its livestock rearing par excelence. Not everything has been easy for Lercy, a mother of 2 children aged 9 and 19 years. She had to work hard to overcome life's challenges and with her garment business has managed to get ahead. She started her business 15 years ago after finishing her training, sewing made-to-measure clothes for her first customers who were her neighbours, friends and relatives. Subsequently she perfected her craft to set up her best company as it not only generates income which ensures the well-being of her household but also generates jobs as 2 women work for her and form a part of her operations; although Lercy is the one who works the most as she says she has no schedule. Currently alhtough she sees clients one-on-one, about measurements, she also has contracts with schools in the city and in her native Ayapel. Her infrastructure has grown little by little, from her simple sewing machine to having 3 industrial type machines. She is currently applying for her first loan with Kiva with which she will buy an industrial type machine to optimize production times and increase production. She will also invest in fabrics to make grade dresses, garments for a contract she won in the department of Cordoba.
