Faailo's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase sacks of fertilizers and gromozone.
Faailo is a 32-year-old woman living in the town of Gataivai. She is married and has five school-aged children. To make a living, Faailo owns and operates a business venture in the agriculture sector raising crops. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes primarily from planting and harvesting taro for sale. Faailo has been engaged in this business for over three years and earns approximately 1000 Samoa Tala (WST) a month from these activities. In 2010, Faailo joined SPBD to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Faailo has successfully repaid a previous loan of 1000 WST from SPBD. This previous loan was used to purchase general farm supplies and equipment. Faailo is now requesting a new loan of 1450 WST which will be used to purchase sacks of fertilizers and gromozone. The loan will be the second loan taken out by Faailo from SPBD. Faailo plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to make improvements to her house. Dear KIVA fellows, please note that the dates in the clients photo are wrong because it was a mistake made by our Loan Officers for not resetting the time, date and year of the camera but the picture was taken within this month. I hope this won't happen again in the coming future.
