Banco Mujer Mujeres En Acción Group's story
Banco Mujer Profile: “Mujeres en Acción” [Women in Action] Fray Casiano Puntarenas November 2011 Xinia is the president of this group and runs a small general store. Her interest in this loan is to increase her sales due to the high season that takes place at the end of the year. She is 40 years old and has two children who live with her. One is a minor and the other helps her with the business. She gets up at 6am to sell break and send her son to school. Then she works attending to clients and managing her merchandise. She later makes lunch and closes at 11 at night. Her main goal is to feel like a successful businesswoman, and help her children with their education and future. One of her limitations is equipment; she needs money to purchase a freezer in order to sell more juices and ice cream. But she has managed to get along with her current resources for the last 5 years. The women in the group have known each other for a while since they are all neighbors and have worked together on raffles and various sales in their communities. They decided to work as a communal bank with Fundacion Mujer to achieve their goals and help their families economically. The name reflects their attitudes, staying active to achieve their goals.
