A loan helped to buy livestock.
Veleros Group's story
The Veleros Communal Bank will begin its first recruitment in Pro Mujer, as part of the Los Andes regional office. There are eight members directed by a board headed by Julia. The members of the communal bank work in a variety of businesses, among which we have a beauty salon, milk sales, crafts, potato sales, clothing sales on credit, lamb sales, and florists. Julia indicates that she has been working with Pro Mujer for a year and six months and that she joined the institution on the invitation of the loan consultants. Currently she has a business selling livestock that she has been doing for some time, having learned it from her parents. The loan she will get now is to increase her capital to buy livestock that she will acquire from the provinces and later sell in her stall. This type of work allows her to generate resources to support her family, since she is married and has two children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes everything.
