San Sebastian Group's story
San Sebastián is the communal bank formed by 11 very hardworking women, fighters from the city of Villa Ygatimi. All of the women are heads of household who struggle to support their families every day. They saw in the Fundación Paraguaya program an excellent opportunity for progress. They are currently in the first loan cycle of the program for women entrepreneurs, but they would like to be able to go beyond this. One example of struggle is Ramona, who raises and sells animals, like chickens and pigs. She says she is very selfless in her work, since she has to be devoted to the animals she raises, so they don't get any illness or have any problem. She says this work has helped her a lot to grow and help her family. She is requesting the loan to buy young chickens and pigs to raise and later sell, since she wants to continue progressing and growing in her business.
