Waliki Sartasiñani Group's story

The Communal Bank “Waliki Sartasiñani” is starting its third loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Los Andes Community Center. This group consists of eight members and is led by a Board of Directors headed by Sra. Eleuteria. The members of this Communal Bank engage in various businesses in order to get ahead such as selling corn porridge, making clothes, selling notebooks, macramé, selling fish, and selling food.

Sra. Eleuteria says that this is the first time she has worked with Pro Mujer. She joined the organization after receiving an invitation from one of the other members. At the moment, she has a business making and selling clothes (traditional skirts and shawls).

The loan she is receiving now will be used to buy an upright sewing machine which she will acquire in the July 16th neighborhood. She will then sell her products from her vending post. Working in this manner enables her to generate income to support her family. Eleuteria is single and has one child.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Eleuteria said she enjoys the health services.
