A loan helped to increase the store’s stock by buying cans, sacks of rice and sugar, and milk.

Mbila Plus Group's story

Bafuleru is the chairwoman of the Community Bank named “Mbila Plus,” which is composed of 24 members united in solidarity for receiving Kiva loans with the goal of developing their businesses. Bafuleru has been part of the micro-enterprise world since 2010. She operates a general store to the east of Kinshasa. She works hard with good management skills in order to realize her dream of one day opening a larger store in her environment. She would also like to achieve financial independence through her business that now earns her $10 per day. She will increase her stock of merchandise with her next loan by buying cans, sacks of rice and sugar, and milk, and reselling them at a profit. Bafulero is 46 years old. She is married and the mother of seven children, whose ages vary between 10 and 28 years old. Four of the children attend school.
