Joyas Para Cristo 1 & 2 Group's story
Carolina is the coordinator of Joyas para Cristo 1 & 2 Group, 10 businesswomen dedicated to various business activities, from miscellaneous sales to food, beauty salons, shoe sales, fruits and vegetables, and others. They sell in their community and in nearby areas, located in the northeast of the city of Santo Domingo, where every day these micro-businesswomen look to improve their quality of life. Carolina is receiving her fourth loan with Esperanza Internacional. Several members of her family work in business, and since she managed to start her business some five years ago, she needed to put in a bit of capital; that was when she decided to participate in a group that was going to form in her community. Her business is selling beauty products, hair products, and cosmetics, among other products. She will invest her current loan in merchandise to expand her inventory. Carolina is a widowed mother of four children, three of whom still live with her and whom she has to care for and help with her sustenance and education. She says her biggest challenge has been getting over the death of her husband. She enjoys working with beauty products, and hopes to be able to have a salon very soon and dedicate herself to this work activity. In the name of her group she thanks all of you for your support.
