Emprendiendo Sin Fin Group's story
This communal bank is called "Emprendiendo Sin Fin" (Endless Enterprise), and is comprised of 22 entrepreneurs who are involved in different activities such as bakery and sweets products, underwear sales and pets. They all live in the city of Temuco. Marta is a member of the communal bank and is pictured sitting in the first row second from the right. She is wearing blue jeans and a striped sweater. She has been making bakery products for five years and has taken several bakery classes offered by the municipality and support institutions. Product sales have been going well and she has many customers. She makes her products at home and delivers them to a fixed customer base. She buys her ingredients in the city of Temuco. Her kitchen has a gas stove, microwave and mixer. Currently she makes and sells desserts and wants to use the loan to buy plastic containers, plastic spoons, cups and milk. Her goal is for her business to prosper and become successful economically. Marta lives with her parents and her personal goals are to save enough money to buy her own house. She is very happy and grateful for the services and loans received from Fondo Esperanza, which have enabled her to invest in and organize her business. Regarding the communal bank she says she already knew the other members and the relationship has been a good one. Temuco is the capital of the Araucanía region. The city is located 670 kilometers south of Santiago (capital of Chile). There are several lake spas (Pucón, Villarrica) in the area and colorful flora and fauna in the nearby natural parks. Around 50% of the Chilean Mapuche indians live here.
