Nueva Esperanza Group's story

Nelly was born in Anta province, in Cusco department. She currently lives in the city of Cusco. Nelly is 48 years old, married, and has three children from her marriage. She is a hard-working and responsible woman who gets her family ahead in life. Her business is renting out some bedrooms in her home. She has been in this business for three years and is doing very well. However, she needs this loan to expand her premises and do some maintenance work on her house. The members of the 'Nueva Esperanza' community bank meet once a month, in the city of Cusco. The members of the bank are hard-working, entrepreneurial people who are always looking for opportunities to get ahead in life and who work hard every day in order to proviD. their children with a better future. Most of the members of this bank live in the city of Cusco and their businesses incluD. selling handicrafts, selling meals, selling food and selling cosmetics. Other members proviD. services. Cusco is known for being a very touristy and commercial area. It is well known for its traditional Inti Raymi festival and for the fact that it is home to one of the seven Wonders of the World (Machu Picchu).
