Madona's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy construction materials to expand a cattle shed.
Madona lives in the village of Etseri. She is 57 years old and married. She and her husband Otar have one a 26-year-old son named Irakli. Madona has three milk cows and a calf. On average, she produces 60 kg of cheese per month, and sells it at the local market. The family grows corn on a one-hectare plot of land they own. The feed most of the corn they grow to the cows. Otan and Irakli are car mechanics. They purchase old, broken cars and repair them in their workshop. After repairs are finished, they sell the cars for a higher price to make a profit. The family's total average monthly income is 800 Georgian laris. Madona plans to use part of this loan to expand the shed where the cows are kept, and also to use part of the loan to buy an additional cow and more calves. Some of the loan will be used to buy a broken car, which will be repaired by Otar and Irakli. The family hopes to get additional income from both activities and put any extra profit they realize towards improving their living conditions.
