Sandoh Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase rice, bulgur wheat, gari, and tomatoes in bulk to add to her current stock.

Sandoh Group's story

In the photo are members of the “Sandoh” group. They are small-scale business people based in Kenema, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. They have come to SMT/Kiva lenders to seek a loan of 800,000.00 SLL each in order to expand their businesses. With this loan, they will be able to expand their businesses, make more profit, and consequently improve their standard of living. The leader of this group is Sia. Sia, aged 27, was born in a place called Koquma but she is currently residing in Kenema, together with her husband and 2 children. Her husband is a businessman and her children are attending primary and secondary schools. For 10 years now, Sia has been selling rice, bulgur wheat, gari (food made out of cassava roots), tomatoes, etc. With her share of this loan, she is going to buy the above mentioned goods in bulk to add to her current stock.
