Benkadi Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase various display items for resale.

Benkadi Group's story

The Benkadi group consists of five married women who average 40 years of age and four children each. They live in traditional families in the Massablacoura district of the city of BOUGOUNI (third administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They know one another as neighbors and through ties of kinship. They sell cereals, shoes, and clothes. Raboua, seen standing in the photo, sells various display items. Eager to satisfy their customers’ needs and bolster their activities, they joined the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso. This is their fifth group loan. All previous loans were repaid without incident. Raboua will use this loan to buy two bags of sugar and two cartons of cigarettes. She gets her stock in Bougouni and sells the merchandise in Massablacoura at retail, for cash or credit, to a client base composed of both men and women. With this loan, she plans to earn a monthly profit of 45,000 FCFA, which she will use to repay the loan and reinvest in her business.
