Ararati Group's story
Mulisa is the head of the business group “Ararati". She is a young entrepreneur, age 40, and the mother of seven young children who attend school. She sells ladies’ footwear, handbags, etc. Her husband is unemployed. She displays her merchandise in a store at the Birere shopping mall. She has been practicing such income-generating activities for two years. She has completed 10 loan cycles with the Hekima microfinance institution. This new loan will allow her to stock up on merchandise by buying 40 pairs of shoes and 20 handbags for resale. She wants her children to grow up comfortably, and she would also like to expand her business. Mulisa wishes to thank the Hekima MFI for helping poor women who do not have access to traditional banks.
