Mema Group's story
Rehema is in her mid 20s and married. She has been running a grocery business for 5 years now. She works from 6 a.m to 10 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit. This will be her 5th Motisha loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. A Motisha loan is a product offered by Tujijenge Tanzania given in the middle of the main loan. It allows borrowers with good credit ratings who pay back their loans smoothly to receive half of the existing loan before their original loan term has ended. Rehema used the previous loans to increase her grocery, build a small house and pay household expenses, She has repaid all her loans successfully. She hopes for a loan to buy more beer, sodas, wheat flour and baking flour. Her dream is to one day open another grocery in a different area. She will share this loan with her loan group, "Mema," which has 5 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
