Las Magnificas Group's story

The Communal Bank “Las Magnificas” (The Magnificent Ones) is starting its first loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Villa Exaltación Community Center. The group consists of eight members and is led by a Board of Directors headed by Sra. Romualda. The members of this Communal Bank move forward in their various retail businesses selling products such as chocolates, turnovers, cosmetics, liquor, jewelry, mobile phones, and soft drinks.

Sra. Romualda says that this is the first time she joined Pro Mujer after being invited by one of her friends. At the moment, she has a business selling turnovers that she started 25 years ago after she finished studying pastry-making at the IBA Institute.

The loan she is receiving now will be used to buy furniture (tables) for improving the conditions of her business. She buys her ingredients in the neighborhood of La Ceja, which is located near her business. By working in this manner, Romualda is able to generate income to support her family as much as possible. She is married and has six children.

When asked what she enjoys about Pro Mujer, Romualda said she likes everything.
