Book Juboo Group's story
The "BOOK JUBOO" group is made up of five women who live in the same street. Each woman manages her own business which allows her to support herself and improve her children's food. The leader of the group has six children, of whom only two attend school. She sells ice, especially during periods of very hot weather. She also processes peanuts into peanut butter which she sells to surrounding families. These activities bring her a modest income which is very useful in satisfying some of her needs and as well as those of her children. Her ambition is to buy a little shop at the central market so she can expand her clientele. The members of the group, looking to grow their working capital, are asking UIMCEC for a loan of 250,000 francs to buy five sacks of peanuts, five sacks of millet, cloth and various other products.
