A loan helped to purchase more crates of beer, sodas and spirits to resell at her pub.
Balinaki Development Group's story
29-year-old Joy is reckoning on a new ball game for her pub business operation in Jinja after she gets this Kiva loan. The affable entrepreneur and unwaveringly diligent mother of three says since the onset, she has been on the inside lane making gradual progress in the consolidation of her business' niche. At her pub, she has an array of both hard and soft drinks to resell. Despite her modest success, Joy says she keeps her feet on the ground, knowing the implications of complacency in her genre of business. Her success has not come easy. She has had to grapple on occasion with financial difficulties. This, she says, has been an impediment especially from the point of view of making more purchases of the most favored drinks at her pub. Joy says she set forth in her business with moral support and a pep talk from her husband. Prior to that, Joy was more partial to farming. She still plies her farming business and she says this business plays a second fiddle role in her profit consolidation. Weekly, she says, this business generates her profits to the tune of Uganda shillings 120,000. Joy says she intends to use this Kiva loan to purchase more crates of beer, sodas and spirits to resell at her pub.
