José Fernando's story
José is a 26 year old single father who lives in the Santo Domingo settlement. His young son is three years old and attends a preschool. Years ago, because of bad luck, he was unemployed for some time, but now José sells organic products at local bazaars and has been doing so for eight years. He learned this, thanks to the recommendation from a friend. He doesn’t have his own transportation, so moving large boxes is difficult. He begins his work early in the morning, because his fatherly duties come first. He tries to finish everything as soon as possible so that he can devote more time to his son, who is his reason for being. José wants to invest in merchandise, so he approached Fundación Alternativa for a loan. His greatest goal is to provide a complete education for his son, watch him grow happy, and be able to give him a dignified life. This loan will help him to improve his quality of life. His dream is to have a car to make transportation easier and help him generate more income.
