A loan helped to purchase chickens for resale.

Nura's story

Nura is 35 years old and lives in the town of Kasese in the Mbarara region of Uganda. She is married and has six children, four of whom are currently in school. Nura has a poultry farm business that sells chickens, which she has run for one year. She owns rental houses as a second business.
To help expand her business, Nura has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from Kiva partner, BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase chickens for resale. With the help of her loan from BRAC, Nura hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees for her children. In the future, she hopes to expand her business further. Nura is a member of BRAC’s Small Enterprise (SEP) program, which has helped her prospects for the future by improving her business.
