A loan helped to buy fertilizers and herbicides to maintain his crop growth.

Pablo Vño's story

Pablo has now been 10 years in a farming business to financially secure the needs of his family. He is 48 years old and been married to a simple housewife. They were blessed with only one child. He is accustomed to visiting his rice crop every now and then to ensure that his plants are growing well. He works hard for his only child's future. He wants him to grow comfortably and with abundance as opposed to what he went through in his childhood. He aims to give him a complete education, because as he said, his profession someday is the only lifetime inheritance he can give him. Pablo sees it as an opportunity to take out a loan through KIVA so he is requesting the amount of P18,000 to buy fertilizers and herbicides to maintain his crop growth. Part of the loan will be used in irrigating his rice field to cope with the negative effect of drought.
