Las Tejedoras Del Ñanduti Group's story
The women of the "Las Tejedoras de Ñanduti" committee (The Ñanduti Weavers) come from the city of Caacupé. They are very hardworking and determined, fighing day by day to provide sustenance for their families. Blanca lives with her husband and children in their own home and works weaving Ñanduti, a traditional Paraguayan embroidered lace. Through this work and with the support of her husband, Blanca has been able to keep her family and her children together. She is very proud of what she does as it is not only a profession but a way of keeping her country's culture alive by teaching her children to weave. It is her dream and and her sacrifice to her children. Blanca is requesting a loan to purchase thread, needles, cloth and other necessary items to weave the Ñanduti.
