Poetas Group's story
Irma is a member of the Poetas group. The members of the group tell us that they chose this name because it is the name of the area where they meet. Irma is 42 years old and has three dependent children. She tells us that she has owned an auto parts store for 19 years. She and her husband both work there. She says that they inherited the business from her father-in-law. Irma is requesting a loan to invest in her business. She sells car parts, oil, some tires, spark plugs, spare parts, etc. She and her husband Noe visit the the city of Querétaro and Mexico City every month to stock up with the spare parts that they lack. They have several suppliers who provide them with what they need for their business. Irma's goal is to provide her children with a career and to open another auto parts store in another town so that she can make a little more profit. Irma is very happy because she says that her business has grown thanks to loans from our financial institution. The other members of the group are Petra, Ernesto, Guadalupe, María Luisa, Celia, Teresa, María del Rosario, Eduardo, María Remedios and Beatriz. They will use their loans to invest in their businesses selling bedspreads through a catalog, running a bakery, selling juices and smoothies, selling Mexican snacks, selling shoes and cosmetics through catalogs, selling car parts, selling fruit and vegetables, selling groceries and running a hairdressing salon.
