A loan helped to buy 15 pairs of shoes.

Njiwa Group's story

Sifa, the leader of the Njiwa business group, is an entrepreneur, aged 34, married and the mother of seven children, all attending school. She sells shoes. Her husband is also a small merchant; he sells various products. Sifa offers her products for sale at the Cadeco municipal market. She has been busy in this small income-generating activity for the past eight years. In the meantime, she was granted nine loan cycles by the microfinance institution Hekima. This new loan will help her to purchase 15 pairs of shoes for resale. In addition, her aim is to provide full schooling to her children and buy a plot of land that she wants to donate to her parents. Sifa thanks Hekima for their efforts in favor of poor women excluded from the classical banking system. It should be mentioned that Njiwa Group is composed of 16 women. However, two people pictured behind the group do not belong to it; they simply happened to appear in front of the camera.
