Bulenga Twekembe Group A's story
40-year-old Flavia plies her food sales business in the many food markets in Mpigi. It is now a decade in this trade for this happily married mother of six. Before taking root in this business, Flavia was engaged in a retail trade. She dispensed with it in time. The last 10 years have been years of mixed fortunes in her business transactions but she says the successes outweigh the failures. That, in many respects, explains why she is still in this business. She has managed to shoulder most of her family related responsibilities with earnings from this business. Flavia principally sells bananas, maize, beans and cassava. Monthly this business generates her sales profits totaling up to 800,000 Shillings. She intends to use this Kiva loan to purchase more foods such as rice, cabbages, pineapples, maize, etc to resell.
