Vital is the leader of the Community Bank named “Aigle Plus” which means “Eagle” in English. It is composed of 13 members united in solidarity for receiving Kiva loans with the goal of developing their businesses. Vital is 45 years old. He has been active in his business since 2005. He began his business selling slippers. Besides selling slippers, he also sells miscellaneous goods. He joined one of Hope DRC’s groups in 2010, and has already received three loans that he repaid properly. Thanks to Hope’s loans, Vital’s business has prospered and it generates a profit of $15 per day. He intends with the next loan to increase the inventory of his business by buying slippers in bulk for reselling at a profit in order to increase his capital. His ambition is to open a slipper shop due to the high demand in his environment; He works hard in order to achieve his dream. Vital is married and the father of five children whose ages vary between 2 and 17 years old. Three of them attend school.
