Sop Mame Diarra Bousso Group's story

The Sop Mame Diarra Bousso Solidarity Group was established on December 10, 2010. It is made up of 34 women who live in the same neighborhood and who work in dressmaking, dyeing, running restaurants, and as retailers. Madam Sokhna is the president of the Village Bank. She is the married mother of four children and also looks after her mother. She is a seamstress and also manages a small retail business with 26 years of experience. She is the first on the right of the photograph, raising her left hand. She purchases her merchandise (outfits, beads, bracelets, necklaces, etc.) in the cities and sells wherever there are large-scale religious ceremonies and in the weekly markets. With this loan, she hopes to strengthen her business in order to earn greater profits. She pays for the schooling, food, clothing, and health needs of her children and her mother.
