Nancy's story

Nancy is 31 years old. She is married to 35 year-old Héctor and the couple have three children: 13 year-old Jessica, 6 year-old Piero and 4 year-old Sandra. They live together as a family in their own home which is located in the small village of Cumutay. This talented woman is a farmer. Her main crops are potatoes, peas and gladioli. She tells us that her gladioli constantly make her income as she harvests them weekly. She has been in this business for 13 years and is well known by the sellers in the wholesale market in Tarma. They say that she is a hard-working and honest woman. What Nancy doesn't enjoy about her work are the seasons when the prices for her harvests drop. However, in spite of the difficulties, she is certain that she will be able to get ahead. Nancy also sells basic household products in a store that she opened in her home and her business is doing very well. For this reason, she is thinking of expanding her grocery store but in the town of Tarma where there is more sales activity. Nancy belongs to the 'Pioneros de Cumutay' (Cumutay Pioneers) community bank and this is her ninth loan from MFP. She hopes to receive the support of each and every one of you so that she can continue in her business. For her part, she pledges to make her loan repayments on time as she will obtain good results in her projects with the support of her community bank. The members of her community bank are responsible and hard-working people. With your support, Nancy will invest the money she has requested in buying a bag of pea seeds for her upcoming harvest. In addition, she will buy several sacks of organic fertilizer to spread over her gladioli.
