Nde Marie's story

Nde Marie was born in 1975. She is married with 7 children. She lives with her family in Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon. Nde Marie finds it difficult to provide for the needs of this number of children and to provide at least a balanced diet to them. The father, who was supportive to her in her matrimonial home, died and that worsens her situation. Since she joined GHAPE in 2007, Nde Marie started with buying and selling fresh tomatoes then later expanded to the selling of second-hand shoes. She has gained a lot of ground in this business. With the profit she got from the sale of shoes, she added another business of selling handbags, which is also of great demand in her business place. With a new loan, Nde Marie plans to continue her business of selling second-hand shoes, as well as handbags, thanks to the experience she has acquired while in business. She thinks this business will succeed because she has set in place the right marketing techniques involved in this business. With the profit from this loan, she plans to re-invest in her previous business, cater to the welfare of her children, pay for their education and guarantee a good and balanced diet. She says, of course, that she will increase her living standard. She prefers loans from GHAPE because of the training GHAPE gives and the ease of obtaining loans and paying them back.
