but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy three or four pigs.
Olga Basilia's story
Olga is a member of the "San Miguel Arcángel II" community bank, which is located in the Llave district in El Collao province in the department of Puno in Peru. She is 33 years old, married and has two children. She has a high school education. Together with her husband she sells pork at Llave market. They have worked with Kiva Field Partner, Movimiento Manuela Ramos, for one year. Olga's first loan was for 500 PEN, money which she invested in her business selling pork. With this new loan of 1500 PEN, she will buy three or four pigs for their meat, which she will then sell. Her dream is to own a house, and a cart in which she can transport her animals. What she likes about the Community Bank is the training provided in money management - how to save and how to make your money grow.
