Haldi Foty Group

The Haldi Foty group was created in May 2010 when their "village bank" was inaugurated. It is made up of 25 women, all from the same neighborhood and animated with good understanding. They are all small-scale retailers. Madame Néné (seated, third person going from left to right) is the leader of the group. She is 46, a widow, and is raising 10 children, four children of her co-spouse and one grandson. She sells fruit and vegetables, a business she has been in for three years. Her new loan will allow her to buy fruit and vegetables for resale. The profit from this business will allow her to help her children pay school fees and to feed them.
