A loan helped to purchase seeds, compost, and poultry feed.
Beatriz Adelina's story
This Communal Bank is called “Nuevo Horizonte” (New Horizon) and located in the neighborhood of Recinto Cachely Grande, which is in the canton of Ventanas. The members of this Communal Bank are short-cycle farmers who grow corn, rice, and pigeon peas.
Beatriz is a farmer who specializes in growing corn. In addition, she raises chickens for fattening. She buys her supplies at the Olivos Brothers Shopping Center each month and then sells her goods at the fair in the same location.
She is requesting a loan to buy seeds, compost, as well as feed for her chickens. With the financial assistance provided through this loan, she will be able to acquire needed supplies. One of the challenges she faces is crop disease. Her dreams include increasing production and building a chicken coop.
Beatriz enjoys cleaning house and keeping it in order.
